I don't think so.  I think if Pacman wins against Diaz, his next assignment would be Nate Campbell.  If not, he might go against Soto, and relive the theme of Soto having beat Pacman's brother Bobby.  Remember, Bob Arum goes for the most money.  He cannot earn the most money except for a fight with Soto, since Soto is also under Top Rank.

Thats what should happen if Pacquiao wants to call himself the true lightweight champion.  David Diaz is a decent fighter, but his title is worthless.  The true and linear lightweight champion of the world is Joel Casamayor, and accordingly, Pacquiao should fight him next if he wants to be the king at 135 (as long as he beats Diaz, which I think he will).  I also think that it would be a very good fight between two excellent southpaw boxers, and Casamayor deserves to have a shot at a big name like Pacquiao, and Pacquiao deserves to get a shot at the true lightweight champ.

why not?  I would have liked to have seen this fight a couple years ago.

I like Casamayor's chances against Pac.  I think Pac would not win a decision, but he could certainly put Casamayor on the canvas.  I do not think Joel would KO Pac.  So if it goes to the cards I pick Casamayor, inside the distance Pacman.

My guess-  Pac by stoppage in the 11th

It would seem like the most logically choice, in my opinion. I would love to see them two go at it. Casamayor is an old crafty vet. He could actually give Manny Pacquiao problems, because of the lack of Pacman's defense. I could see Casamayor appling some rough tactics that Pacquiao is not use to seeing.

I could see Casamayor getting a decision win over Pacquiao.
