Is Cesc Fabregas an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 legend? – English Premier League debate
The Spanish genius was born on May 4, 1987 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314.
This summer the hype has been all around him with his potential transfer back to his home town. A £27 million bid made by Barca has already been rejected by Arsenal. They are likely to return with a higher bid to get their player back. Arsenal have demanded
£45 million for their captain.
The Gunners will do all they can to keep Fabregas back within their fold. But once gone, Wenger will find it hard to replace the midfielder despite the huge budget he has at his disposal. Very few footballers reach the same level of brilliance that Fabregas
has achieved in his short career. Some tout http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360, who has just a year left on his contract, as a plausible replacement. Not taking anything away from the Frenchman, Fabregas has a more solid head and is a far better player than Nasri.
Fabregas joined the Gunners when their fortunes were much better than their past winless six years have been. They were enriched by the club legends. Thiery Henry, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Pires were all playing for Arsenal back then. He has
always looked up to them for inspiration. Playing with his immense talent and his peers to learn from, Fabregas stood on the edge of glory.
But Arsenal’s move to Emirates Stadium resulted an increase in the club’s debts and Wenger had to rely on younger players to shoulder the responsibility. As dismal the record for past six years may be, Fabregas has given his best for the team and taken up
the burden to carry the outfit to the best of his abilities. But, can he yet be regarded as a club’s legend is what requires much contemplation and debate.
Fabregas has often been criticised as a dull captain. He has not really been able to lift the team when required and quietly goes about doing his own thing. He hasn’t exactly been inspirational.
On the other hand, many people have continuously admired the style of football played by the Gunners. Fabregas has orchestrated much of it. His http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 with the ball are a treat to the eyes. He knows when to step in and make an attempt to hit the target.
In other instances, he will play a mundane role and build play with key passes and by maintaining possession.
He was made a captain of a team that averaged twenty-three in terms of age. It is never easy to lead a young team and that too with a heavy badge bearing Arsenal’s name.
Six years have elapsed since Arsenal last lifted silverware. That has brought Fabregas under severe criticism and has challenged top accolades to be bestowed on him. Statistics, however, depict something else. He has scored 57 goals for the club in 303 matches
that he played for them. He has also been involved in key passes on many occasions. After true legend, Bergkamp, he has been the biggest foreign player for Arsenal.
With all his greatness combined, Fabregas failing to bring home a trophy will always haunt his tenure with Arsenal. He will always be compared with the world’s best. But at home in Arsenal, people will never remember him the same way they cherish Henry and
Vieira.
Fabregas will probably never be considered a legend at Arsenal. May be rightly so.
