Is Chemistry really that difficult?

I have some friends that always say Chemistry is so tough and Chemistry is so tough. So I wanted to know if it is hard.

It is like learning a new language.  

It is difficult to get started.  then it becomes easier and easier.

Well to be honest most people say that it's the most difficult high school class, and for me it definitely was. However, everyone is different. For me I just did not understand any of it; none of it made sense to me or came easy to me. Maybe that's because math and science are my two weakest subjects...but I also had the hardest teacher in the school. So basically it depends on the teacher you have, and your strengths and weaknesses. In general, the majority of people think it is difficult. But if you put a lot of work into it, you should be fine. :)

It all depends on how hard you make it for yourself. Granted that chemistry or any of the sciences are not easy and may prove to be difficult at times, they certainly aren't impossible. Repetition through study and practice can help alleviate the initial difficulties of chemistry, although that's true for almost anything.

Which reminds me... I have to study for my chemistry exam right now.
