Is Chicago a safe place to study and live in?

I'm currently deciding whether to go Chicago to further my studies, so just wondering if the security there is fine, and also like natural disasters and stuffs, I'd like to know as much as possible! (:

Where in Chicago are you staying at?

It all depends on the area and what campus you'll be on. All the universities should have emergency phones through out campus though.

Just be smart. It goes for any large city. Don't walk home alone late at night. Buy mace for protection.
