Is China building a major navy, if so do their plans include carriers similar to the Nimitz class?

China lacks any kind of Air Force/Navy anywhere comparable to the U.S.'s.

They are trying. The bamboo floats ok, but the airplanes keep lighting it on fire.

OK. You, me, and like one other person here may actually know what a Nimitz class is.

But China is definatley trying to increase their navy. But navy's are expensive and require experience to be effective. China would have better luck buying vessels from the US, because we've learned to perfect our navy over time.

Yes, they are well on their way to having a large, blue water navy and have purchased some older aircraft carriers from Russia and they are reconfiguring these, including manufacturing their own. They have tremendous submarine power now in terms of numbers and are getting closer to finishing some significant nuclear subs which will challenge ours. They aircraft fleet consists of some Russian SU-27's and SU-37's which are state of the art. The Chinese are no pig in the poke any longer and they have become very formidable and dangerous and their ultimate goal is to create a naval and transport ability which could allow them to fight a war with us on North American turf.

yes they are building up their navy. Everyone thinks China is so powerful because of their population , but understand most of their population are not chinese they are other ethnic groups who hate the chinese goverment . In a world war they would be fighting in their own country
