Interesting article Lupin. After reading the article, I do believe that those gymnasts are underage, at least He. Even though they can say that these sources aren't credible, as a journalist I can say that we definitely fact check everything. What's even more convincing is that the age is being reported consistently. She was 13 in late 2007 competing in a 13-15 even and she was said to be 14 this year. If she is really underage, it's just really sad that an entire country would compromise it's integrity to win a gold medal. But there's nothing to be done because the government provided the identification, which they can make up of course.

  1. Yes, they have some of the best 14 and 15 year olds in the world. Yeah, I said it. I agree with Bela Karolyi: Some of those girls are obviously underage.

Hard to prove, I know, but it's not like it would be out of character for the Chinese government to lie about something to gain an advantage.

It's a shame. I wish the US could bring out our best 14 and 15 year olds and just throw down with China but that's what happens when you follow the rules.

Fine, for those who disagree with me and gave me a thumbs-down, here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sect...

  2. they were the favorite but usa was giving them a run for there money.

the chinese fell off the balance beam, but then the usa fell also.

then on floor exercise, the entire usa team went out of bounds and the one that fell off the beam, either over or under rotated and fell on her ***.

china is up next, unless they mess up big time, they will win

  3. I'm pretty sure they just won

  4. After everything that has happened in the last ten minutes yes.  They need to make big mistakes for the US to get gold.
