Was on a roadtrip yesterday, and saw a new 2008 Dodge Challenger on a transporter. Great looking car. Looked it up this afternoon... 6.1 liter hemi, 13 mpg city!! What in the heck are they thinking? Who is going to buy this thing??

Honda brings out the Fit, Nissan has the Versa, Toyota has the Yaris. And Chrysler gives us another gas guzzling Hemi. Wake up, Detroit! Gas is $4.00/gal, and it ain't coming down. A 20 mile trip to work would cost you $12.30 round trip, IF you drive it nicely!

  1. They think that making the Challenger makes people interested in the brand and helps sales of cars like the Dodge Caliber or the Ram. That does work, but once people see how badly designed the cars are (Poor quality interiors, poor gas mileage, poor reliability,etc...), people end up running to Toyota and Honda.

  2. People who buy this sort of car do not buy it for the purpose of economy, rather it is for the love of the particular car.  If you spend 40G on a car it is not for a gas saving Honda.

  3. Most of the first  Challengers  are already spoken for. Will be very few avalable to the general public...................UJN

  4. dude chrysler is still in the faze of thinking america is all about muscle still. They have no car that gets good mileage

  5. The State patrol drives them in VA. And we pay for thier gas so they can write us tickets !!! You are right, but alot of people are taking the gas prices in stride, and as long as people don't complain, the prices will be high !!!  I spend on average 250.00 a week for gas in my truck needed for work, We as Americans, need to refuse to keep paying these prices. The rich don't complain becuase they probably benifit somehow by the high cost of gasoline. If a car company builds it people will buy it !!!!   Take care !!
