  1. Go with either Circus Circus or Excalibur. They are better hotels for kids and very affordable when you book using promo codes. Here a few codes. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p...

  2. Circus Circus has a manor separate from the two hotel towers with a swimming pool outside, great for kids.  And just across the street is the Adventure Dome Amusement (indoor) park which is totally family friendly

  3. Circus Circus IS kind of gross... We used to stay at the Excalibur before we moved to LV and the kids loved it there! We have long since moved away cuz LV is okay to visit, but t's a terrible place to raise kids!

  4. no, It's still a casino, and anywhere that has gambling,  drinking,  and smoking  is not good for children!

  5. Yes, ....but l am not sure if the adults will like it.  Thanks to the game arcade, McDonald's, the adventure dome & all the gift shops.  The kids are going to want money, money, & more money.   If you can put limits on the spending then the kids will like the place.    If they (and you) have trouble with the word "NO" , perhaps you should find a place with less temptations or take the kids elsewhere.

  6. I used to live in Vegas.  You will do your kids a favor by leaving them at home, or send them to grandma's house while you vacation.  The Family Friendly Vegas is long gone!  Yes, there are a few activities kids would enjoy, but they are only short time.  After 2-3 hours, your kids would be bored once again.

  7. I say stay at The Orleans.

When i was younger, my sister and i had a great time staying there.

There was bowling, an arcade, movie theater and this place called Kids Tyme.

Kids Tyme was great for my sister and i because it allowed are parents to leave us there for as long as they wanted while they were able to do there own things. There were games, food, movies, a HUGE jungle gym and kids to make friends with. We always had a good time and never wanted to leave.

Here is a link about it:

and here is a link about the hotel itself:

  8. Circus Circus is a dump, not to mention high crime area. Stay far away from there! Rio is a great place for kids. I found this site that lists the top choices for kid friendly hotels, with Excalibur at the top. http://www.lasvegaskids.net/lasvegashote...

  9. Yes, definitely if you have kids, but it's also the worst MegaResort in the whole town.  I will tell you that it's absolutely filthy, but if you have kids it's great.  I also don't find the Luxor to be that bad and it's one of the cleanest hotels around.

  10. NO !!  Its NOT the best place to stay because many of the other hotels on the Strip also have activities for kids.  And you can still take them to the Circus Circus for some fun.

You should stay on the strip in the center of all of the hotel locations so that you can walk to see all of the hotels and casinos, and all of the free attractions.   The best place to stay to do that is in one of the hotels on or nearest to Flamingo Rd & the Strip. At that corner is Caesars Palace, Bellagio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and the Paris hotels. This link will take you to a map of the strip so you can see ( http://www.vegas.com/lounge/map.html) I am not saying you need to stay in one of these but stay close to them. I do recommend the Flamingo and Monte Carlo hotels if you are looking for a good price, location and pool.

The Flamingo, Ballys, Monte Carlo, and some others you can get into for around $100 (but most times for less) during the low seasons. Its also more expensive in all Vegas hotels on Friday and Saturday nights by $40 to $60 more. So to get a lower rate plan to go to Vegas on Sunday and stay through Thursday night.

In the summer you probably want to spend some time at the pool areas, which in Vegas are fabulous. All of the big hotels have great pool areas. But the Mandalay Bay, and Monte Carlo hotels have a wave pool and a lazy river for tubing or body floating. The MGM hotel has a huge lazy river and a water fall. The Flamingo has a water slide (not big but nice and refreshing) and also a water fall.  Those are the type hotels you want so the kids can have a great time at the pool.

Then there are movie theaters in the Palms (multiplex) which is just off the Strip on Flamingo Road (across from the Rio Hotel) and also another on the Strip across the street from the Monte Carlo hotel, near the MGM hotel.  If you like to bowl, there are alley's in The Gold Coast Hotel/Casino (beside the RIO) and in the Orleans Hotel Casino. .If your kids like roller coasters, there are roller coaster rides at the NY, NY hotel/casino, at the Sahara Hotel/Casino, and, for those with a strong heart, three rides at the top of the Stratosphere Tower. The Circus Circus Hotel/casino has arcades and an indoor amusement park. There is a place called Game Works below the Coke World experience that has all type video games. In addition, many hotels have an arcade area.

  11. IMO, the Orleans is a much nicer hotel for families.

    http://www.orleanscasino.com/things-to-d...

Tripadvisor.com selected the Orleans as the #2 best value hotel in the world

The rooms are very nice* and very large compared to what you get on the strip, and you pay much less for them.

*When you check in, ask for a room on an upper floor that faces the strip. >Awesome panoramic view

    Orleans

Free shuttle to the center of the strip.

One of the best value buffets in LV

    Kids Tyme

    Bowling Center

    Arcade

    Orleans Arena

    18 screen movie theater

    Etc.

  12. More for kids to do there than any others. Excalibur would be second choice.
