I am hearing more and more about friends of friends going off to Holy Cross instead of Boston College. I think the only thing I have heard about regarding Holy Cross was Bob Cousy. Other than that I would like some info on it.

What is the overall opinion of the school? Is it a prestigious institution?

  1. It is very prestigious. Beautiful campus, smart people, great reputation

  2. Yes, its star is constantly on the rise, and it is especially well thought of in the Northeast.

  3. Yes -- it is an excellent school. US News ranks it #33 in the country.

  4. Holy Cross is one of the better liberal arts colleges in the US and is likely to be familiar to any admissions officer or faculty evaluator in a good graduate program. If your grades are good and you have strong letters of reference from faculty at Holy Cross, your odds of acceptance into a premier graduate program are good. The prestige of the undergraduate institution is not the primary basis for an admissions decision, but everything else on their applications being equal, a graduate of a good liberal arts college like Holy Cross would rank ahead of a graduate from an institution of lesser prestige.

  5. Its a good school for sure.
