Is Comcast the only cable provider in Olathe Kansas or is there another one?

I live in Olathe Kansas (Kansas City) and was told by my roommate who apparently did some investigation that the only cabe service provider we could get is Comcast. Is this true? We've had Comcast for a little over a year now and it seems that our bill has gone up concedribly since we first signed on. We need cable in order to get wireless internet but with what Comcast is now charging us we may need to drop it if we don't find a cheaper provider.

No, cable is a localized monopoly. The only other option you have is your telephone company for internet and a satellite company for your television. It also depends on how far away from the city you live which options you have. Check your local phone book.
