Is Concrete Angel by Martina McBride a real story?

She sang this song at her concert when she came to Cleveland. She sharted to cry and said that was the first times in like 10 years she cryed at a concert. I don't think it is a real story(Even though that happens). Does anyone know if it is based of someone she knows, or whoever wrote it knows?

All I know is that its about kids who get abused. Its sad. The music video is so sad.
