Yes Connaught Place is closed on Sunday.  It is the weekly day off.

Connaught Place in Delhi is partly closed on Sundays these days. Actually, there is a split in the Traders' Association there. One section seeks to let it be off on Sundays while the other wish to have it a seven days open market. The Malls and some major local markets in and around Delhi have already taken sheen off the Connaught Place shopping. The section of traders willing to keep it open on Sundays as well have been offering special schemes and discounts on Sundays at times to attract people to come to Connaught Place and Shop. Local Administration has left the situation to be settled between the two sections of the Traders' Association there. As a result, one can find quite a few leading stores/shops open even on Sundays there.

Connaught Place used to be closed on Sundays, as far as I remember. Things may have changed now.
