Is Cordoba Argentina safe for a lone female young traveler?

I am about to graduate college and am considering applying for a 3 month internship in Cordoba, Argentina.

  1. It is one of the safer cities in Latin America.  safer than Buenos Aire, Rosario, Montevideo.  Maybe about the same as Mendoza or Santiago.  Probably safer than Miami.


  2. Like in any other place in the world, including ANY city in the US, a person -especially a young female-, should be careful where she goes and who she interacts with.

    Have a nice time in Argentina.

  3. I am so jealous. I am half Argentinian so I would love to be in your shoes. Cordoba is one of the nicer places to travel in Argentina so you should be fine. Just be smart. Don't travel in places you don't know that well late at night and try not to speak English too much when you are traveling alone. The more Spanish you try to use the better. And be sure not to take out amounts of money out of your wallet while in public. Always wear your backpack/purse or whatever you carry your money in, infront of your body so you can see/feel it at all times.

    I studied abroad in Argentina for 4.5 months and was perfectly fine. Just be smart!:)
