  1. stay indoors and keep warm it,s flipping freezing in this country at the moment.

  2. No, Its not a nice place.   Try Killarney.  Its very nice.

  3. Cork's nice. There's the English Market, shopping in the city centre, lots of arts things going on in the city also.

Nearby is Cobh and the Titanic Museum, and a little further is the Midleton Distillery.

Towards the north is the town of Mallow, with a haunted castle. On the way to Mallow is the tourist trap of Blarney, with is probably rather quiet now, come to think of it.

To the west of the city is Macroom and Ballyvourney, the Muskerry Gaeltacht. Beautiful place that few stop to see, walk up the hill to see St Gobnait's well, wonderful place.

And south of the city is Kinsale, a nice fishing town.

  4. Depends if it's Cork city or Cork county.

West Cork (county) is the most scenic. If you have a car to go travelling then I recommend driving to Kinsale and then on to West Cork along the coast. There are very nice places to eat and stay in Baltimore/Skibbereen area. Main things to do include fishing, water sports, experiencing proper country pubs and fantastic food.

If you are staying in the city, then there are a few city tours you can do. Open bus tours, visit the old Gaol, the Opera House. And plently of shopping.
