  1. Its basically a "pickled" Beef brisket

Its best to boil it for a while, then take it out of the water, put it in a cassarole pan, glaze it with mustard and bake it till its fall apart tender. I also strain off the seasonings from the water I boiled the brisket in and boil my cabbage in it. YUM!

  2. Not sure, but we eat horse as a rule here in Switzerland, and it's good.Much leaner than beef. Used to freak me out until I found out they ship it here from the U.S!

  3. Corned beef is BEEF. The clue is in the name. Corned refers to the process of flavoring the meat with spices. If it was horse, it would have to say so, and the sale of horse meat for human consumption is illegal in most parts of the US. Still, even f it was horse, it wouldn't kill you. Cheval is popular in France. The final bit of 'proof', is you will is that horse is more expensive than beef, and paying the fines for adulterated food would make it even more unattractive to those who would use it.

  4. corned  beef is from cows, not horses

  5. It could be Horsemeat.... I have never herd of rumourmeat what animal is that from ?

  6. No of course not. The "corn" in "corned beef" refers to the "corn" or grains of coarse salts used to cure it. Place a cut of corned beef in water and add a bit of sugar and wine vinegar, a couple of bay leaves and simmer for a number of hours - but four hours for a 1.5kg piece, Add your potatoes about an hour before the time is up and carrots about half and hour before and then cabbage about ten minutes before,

  7. rumor. and the corned is a irish thing that they do with onions!

  8. Beef is beef. Beef is from a cow, not a horse. I think that the "corned" comes from the spices that it's cured in.

  9. dog f***s

  10. It's beef as the name suggests, and corning is the process by which it becomes corned beef. Maybe less reputable brands or foreign brands are made using other animals?

  11. Interesting. I've absolutely never hear this before.

No, I don't believe it is. However, I have no idea what the "corned " means.

  12. Corned BEEF!!!!!

  13. Corned beef is beef, not horse. Corned means that it's been chopped compressed and pickled.

  14. Er, the clue is in the title, Corned BEEF! Only an American could come up with a conspiracy theory about Corned Beef! :)

Corned Beef is ground beef (all the bits you wouldnt really like to eat) (in a can 340g John Wests) salt, suger and sodium nitrite the "beef" totals 120 grams

    Horse meat is really tasty!
