  1. You mean, scenery? Good (World-class, in fact) coastline, wrecked, post-industrial interior (tin mining, china clay extraction). Uncertain weather. No cities (Truro is a medium-sized town , no matter what it calls itself). Very insular in attitude, overrun by tourists (the first is probably a consequence of the second), arty colonies here and there (notably St. Ives). Some places have sold their souls for the tourist £, and are best avoided: Newquay and to a lesser extent Padstow are prime examples. Best visited out of season.


  2. I opted to move here nine months ago...

    I could point you to a few not-good bits,

    (such as avoiding Newquay in the tourist season unless that's *really* your thing), as anyone can do to any county,

    but from the beaches and the cliffs to the woods and the moors, so much of it is simply wonderful.
