The islands of the Caribbean, of which Cuba is one, are viewed differently from different points of view.  Being Spanish speaking former colonies, they are grouped with the South and Central American countries as to language and history.   Being islands, that groups them uniquely.   Being in a certain tropical climate and physical location, they are often grouped with Central America and Mexico, especially for vacation discussions.


  2. Cuba is a country on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. It is often called a Caribbean country, and the Caribbean islands are generally considered part of North America
