Is DHL the worst delivery company or what?

I ordered some items from a company that used DHL for delivery. FedEx & UPS never have any trouble delivering on time. I did package tracking. On Thurs. when I saw the package would be delivered, I called DHL & asked if I needed to sign for the package. They said they could just leave the package & the package would arrive sometime that day. NO PACKAGE that day. I tracked the package, it said address information needed. I called DHL - gave directions to my house (if they didn’t know where I lived why did they ever take my package out to "attempt delivery"). Early the next morning I called DHL again & DHL stated all my information had been received as well as a contact number if they couldn’t find me. I offered to pick it up if they could not deliver because I NEEDED my package. She said they would deliver & she would send a memo to put me as a priority delivery. Guess what, NO PACKAGE!! Now it’s Friday night! I check the tracking info only to find that the package wasn’t even attempted to be delivered. Never left the building!! I call DHL & they say sorry -- there closed until Monday at 9AM -- I will tell them it’s urgent you get your package, but you will have to wait till Monday. Well, I paid for fast delivery only to get a company that doesn’t own a GPS, doesn’t work on Saturdays, could care less about getting you your package, and whose motto should be "We will get your package to you at OUR earliest convenience!" Thank you DHL for the crappiest service I have ever paid for.

  1. UPS doesn't work on saturdays either and I hate them because Fed Ex drives by my house 3-4 times a day before the UPS guy even shows up with my package leaving me barely enough time to get my orders together and get to the post office. grrrr

    But after reading you problem - it is obvious they are not a good company for you.

  4. I'm really sorry you had the problems you described with your package delivery. But is it really fair to tear apart an entire international organization with more than 170,000 employees  because of a single failed delivery? You've used this forum to rant and express your frustration.  But can you really say in all honesty that UPS, USPS and FedEx have never screwed up a delivery?  With the millions of letters and packages they handle around the world every day, it’s a miracle more packages aren't delayed or lost.

    Consider the incredible complexities of the logistics they face. It happens every day with all of them  Unfortunately your scenario is not unique.  It has happened to me as well.

    Let it go. They’re human just like the rest of us.
