  1. Nobody gives you the wireless....you just have to buy a wireless router, connect it to the dsl modem, set it up and up you go.

  2. DSL is always High Speed.  High Speed is not always DSL.

High speed means you are going faster than dial up or ISDN.  That's all it refers to.

High speed can be any one or more of the following:

    DSL

    Cable

    Satellite

    Commercial Frame

    ATM

    etc.

    High speed can NOT be:

    Dialup

    ISDN

If you are currently using DSL your phone SHOULD work when you use it for voice calls even when you are connected to the Internet and vice versa.

If it isn't working this way you either A) Don't have a filter in one of your existing phone jacks; B) have a major technical issue with your DSL;  or C) you don't have DSL at all.

Wireless will work with any type of connection, including dial up.

AND there is no such thing as "Wireless Internet".  We have ONE Internet.  It has wires.

You can use your existing connection via wireless.  You connect a wireless router or a wireless access point to the device(Cable or DSL modem, etc) that is currently connected to the Ethernet port of your computer.  Then you install a wireless adapter into your computer.  Then you connect your wireless adapter (over the airwaves) to your wireless router or wireless access point.

  3. High speed is another term for broadband.

DSL is a type of broadband, so yes, it's high speed.

Yes your phone line is available when you're on dsl.  Both signals can be used at the same time.  You'll get filters to put on your phone jacks.

In order to have a wireless connection, you'll need a wireless router to create the network.  Some dsl providers will sell you a combination modem/wireless router so you only need one piece of equipment.  Otherwise you need a modem and a wireless router.

  4. yes it is. I have DSL and can still be on the phone while surfing the net.

  5. Is a truck and a car the same as to "automotive" yeah

but its 2 different things. Now days DSL is considered high speed, but you gotta look at the speeds. Anything less than 1mb for DSL i wouldn't even consider high speed. And it depends on wat you use your internet for.

  6. There is high speed dial up.

As long as there is no Dial Up service with the DSL or High Speed, your phone will be free.

  7. i had had four different connections:

    1. Dial-up (cheap, low speed, used phone n engaged)

    2. Cable Net (cheap, 50kbps-150kbps, not even used phone wire coz it was ethernet LAN)

    3. DSL (costly, 128kbps, used phone line but not engaged)

    4. WIMAX Internet (don,t know coz i m using the one given by my cousin freely who works in wateen, 150kbps-2.5mbps, wireless)

  8. DSL - direct service link, yes you can be online and on the phone at the same time.  DSL is slightly slower than a cabled internet but wayyyyyy better than dial up.  If you put your DSL modem in line with a wireless router then yes, you can also be on wireless.  I hope that helped!

  9. DSL is fast enough for basic needs

  10. Yepp

  11. A Digital Subscriber Line is a fast continuously available internet connection that uses a phone line and DSL modem. A DSL connection to the internet does not interfere with voice transmission.

Broadband Internet access, often shortened to just broadband, is high-speed Internet access—typically contrasted with dial-up access over a modem.

Dial-up modems are generally only capable of a maximum bitrate of 56 kbit/s (kilobits per second) and require the full use of a telephone line—whereas broadband technologies supply at least double this speed and generally without disrupting telephone use. (Though the opposite word for broadband is not dial up, it is used here for practical understanding purposes only.)

Although various minimum speeds have been used in definitions of broadband, ranging up from 64 kbit/s up to 1.0 Mbit/s, the 2006 OECD report [1] is typical in counting only download speeds equal to or faster than 256 kbit/s as broadband, and the US FCC currently defines broadband as anything above 768 kbit/s [2] [3]

Speeds are defined in terms of maximum download because several common consumer broadband technologies such as ADSL are "asymmetric"—supporting much slower maximum upload speeds than download.

  12. DSL is high enough for most things and won't tie up your phone line.

  13. Yes if you have DSL you can be on the phone and on the internet at the same time. DSL is considered high-speed and if you want wireless you will need to buy a wireless router.

  14. DSL is one form of high speed internet, cable is another, and fios (from vios) is a third.

  15. Broadband Internet = High Speed Internet = Cable Internet = DSL Internet.

Yes, your phone will work while using DSL.

Yes you can use your DSL with a wireless router to get wireless high speed.

  16. This should help you.  Go to that website it really explains it in real detail.  Hope this helps you!

  17. yes DSL is high speed internet. Your phone line will be free with it. You can have wireless if you have a router hooked up. Cable is faster but more expensive.

  18. Nope DSL is slower than something like comcast broadband, but usually DSL is fast enough
