She is Spanish American with ancestry from Spain. So she's a European Latina. (Remember that Latina and Hispanic are terms based on geography and language and they have nothing to do with race or ethnicity... anyone born in a certain country can be Hispanic or Latina.)

No... Dara Torres is of Spaniard ancestry, read European - American; the experience  and immigration of Spaniard Americans in the USA is similiar to the Italian and Portuguese immigrants. Spaniard Americans tended to reside in Italian American neighborhoods. As a Spaniard/ Spanish American myself, I realized a long time ago that the history, experience, culture, traditions, differ from those termed "Hispanic" Americans. Spanish culture INFLUENCED and added to the Latin American cultures south of the Rio Grande; however, Spanish culture AND languages (Castillian, Andulusian, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese, etc) are UNIQUE and separate and differ from the "Latin-Indian-Mestizo-Afro" cultures of Mexico and peoples due south.
