  1. good question, perhaps her she took the last name of her husband? i'm not really sure.

  2. Torres was born in Jupiter, Florida, the daughter of Edward Torres

She is cuban... Florida?  jaja :)

  3. She is Spanish American with ancestry from Spain. So she's a European Latina. (Remember that Latina and Hispanic are terms based on geography and language and they have nothing to do with race or ethnicity... anyone born in a certain country can be Hispanic or Latina.)

  4. Torres is a Spanish last name, so she surely has some hispanic ancestry.

  5. No... Dara Torres is of Spaniard ancestry, read European - American; the experience  and immigration of Spaniard Americans in the USA is similiar to the Italian and Portuguese immigrants. Spaniard Americans tended to reside in Italian American neighborhoods. As a Spaniard/ Spanish American myself, I realized a long time ago that the history, experience, culture, traditions, differ from those termed "Hispanic" Americans. Spanish culture INFLUENCED and added to the Latin American cultures south of the Rio Grande; however, Spanish culture AND languages (Castillian, Andulusian, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese, etc) are UNIQUE and separate and differ from the "Latin-Indian-Mestizo-Afro" cultures of Mexico and peoples due south.

  6. Another Jew swimmer?
