Is Dating Haram in Islam?

Question

I think i'm in love with a girl, and I don't know how to show her what I feel. I want to ask her to be my girlfriend, but i'm not sure its allowed in Islam..

Do you think dating is haram? why yes? or why not?

If dating is haram, Is there any better way to show that I love her without dating?

Yes dating is haraam.  This is because it leads to pre marital s*x, AIDS, HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, children born out of wedlock, deadbeat dads, single parent homes, children not knowing who their father is, children being aborted by their mothers, broken hearts(for the women), low self esteem for the women, children becoming criminals because they are raised in single mother homes.  If you like a woman, then approach her father and ask for his permission for her hand.

All forms of dating is haram. Even with a guardian accompanying you on dates. The only way a man and woman can be together is in marriage.In Islam it is believed that dating always leads to pre-marital s*x.

When a man and a woman are alone, the third with them is Shaytan!!!

Dating can involve kissing, touching, s*x, no Hijaab, etc., all of which are Haraam !!!

Don't tell me you can go on a no looky, no touchy date. If you can, good for you!!!

yes dating in islam is haram, its haram because you will be tempted to do haram, as it says in the quran the weakest thing for men is s*x.  and if you are alone with her  the third person in the room is shaytan.  if you are older and is ready for marriage then go to her parents and ask for her hand if you are not old enough then you can still ask her parents and make a deal that when you are older and have a job and all that stuff you can marry her. BUT thats only if she agrees to be with you to.

It's haram. Wait until both of you are older, and ask her parents for permission to marry her, if they say yes, then ask her for her hand in marriage.

Ummmmm, there are Muslims who believe it's totally wrong.

While other Muslims believe if you will meet in public, it will be alright.

Because in public, it usually means your desires will not guide you to do something Haram (making out or making love).

So like where I live (a Muslim Country) many people believe it's wrong, while many other lovers meet in coffee shops and at malls, etc. - to get to know each other more... see if they suit each other for a deeper relationship like marriage.

there are plenty of ways you can show a girl you love her...

call her, give her attention, tell her about your feelings...

girls don't need physical connection they feel loved with attention

if she feels the same you can take it from there...

the fact you can't date i believe is a difficult side in islam..

but honestly if you have no bad intentions there's nothing wrong you can try be friends.

depends on how old are you, if your old enought to get married and effored a family then you can look for girls so you would have the right person for you, otharwise its haram.
