Seems like he still wants to play. What team could use him as a back-up?

  1. I forget his life story, but wasn't it something about losing parents or growing up with his grandma or something?  Either way, he feels he's entitled since he's overcome so much.  He hasn't proved his worth since he had Randy Moss... which after his failed attempts the last few years, only shows how great Randy really is.

Hope he enjoys the golf course.

  2. He's selfish and it's better for the NFL that he retires.  He obviously doesn't have "it" anymore and yet he still thinks he should be a starter.  Now granted he was a huge problem for defenses because he could throw and run in his prime but now he can't really do either well enough.  I'm glad the Packers didn't pick him up because it seems like he'll only bring down the morale of the team.  He still wants to play though so I don't really see this as a "retirement"... more like a vacation.

  3. His retirement was a bad decision for him because he was offered back up deals in decent places.  Green Bay offered him to back up Aaron Rodgers, He was offered to back up Big Ben in Pittsburgh.  He turned those down, and both teas are super bowl contenders.  He would never get a starting job, but sense he thinks he deserved one, that means he's still a selfish player, and not a team guy...so that makes him useless to any team!

  4. Culpepper is a selfish whiner.  I will not miss him.

  5. He had two offers from legit teams, in the past year. In both cases, his ego seems to have prevailed and he fancied himself a starting q.b.

This last ditch effort, saying 'o.k., I'll be a backup" well it's too late for that. Teams drafted and acquired veterans to fill starting roles and now that preseason is over, their rosters are full.

He should have taken one of the offers on the table, set his pride aside, and waited for a chance to step in and show his abilities.

  6. i would of thought Green bay.

  7. He was complaining that he wasn't getting a fair shot at fighting for a starting job, well it's September, no team has shown interest in him as a starter, he could've backed up Rogers or Big Ben, but he wanted to start.

Honestly we saw him here in Oakland last year and he wasn't that amazing. If he was gonna start, it would be for a desperate team, and there are teams that could've used him such as Kansas, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto (I mean Buffalo) and maybe even a return to Minnesota. He's still an upgrade for those teams.

But the only teams that showed interest were the Jags, Steelers and Packers, and I think he should've gone for the Packers. He should've set his pride aside and become a veteran locker room leader and mentor for Green Bay's young quarterbacks. And who knows if Rogers choked, Culpepper may have had a shot at starting.

But oh well, poor guy he was never the same after the knee, and nothing without Randy Moss.

  8. As soon as his phone rings he would play again he just wanted to hear his name in the news again!!

  9. I thought I read where he actually offered to the backup role for Aaron Rogers?

Wonder if it was a contract/money issue where he wanted more money, than is appropriate for backup quarterback pay?
