Is Daunte Culpepper the 1st man to retire from Unemployment?

  1. Tim Couch.  After leaving Cleveland, he worked out for a number of teams.  Like Culpepper, he had a weak opportunity with many teams  - including Green Bay - that never panned out.  He finally flamed out after a very brief stint with Jacksonville last year.

    A kind of bizarre inverse of Culpepper's case involved former Broncos Quarterback Jake Plummer.  He retired when he learned the Broncos were trading him to Tampa Bay.  Apparently he was so against becoming a Buc, he elected to just retire instead of playing it out.

  4. HAHAHA seriously that is pretty much what happened. I guess getting invited to camps this year for a tryout means he could argue he was still getting offers. There are probably others that retired from the Free Agents list, but probably only for the sake of saying they retired over saying they weren't wanted any more, you know like he is REALLY doing.
