He is not playing as well as he can. When he played for Real Madrid and Man. U, he played with more intensity. Now it almost seems he is jogging around out there. What do you guys think? Thanks guys

  1. He is getting older, therefore, slower.  Yes, I think he is now overpaid for his skills.

  2. I think he is in it for the money.  And he is overreated .

250 Million can do that to a player

  3. In my opinion, he's an okay player, not as brilliant as other people say he is. His freekick style can be done my many many other players. He's popular because of his look and a good public relation. Big teams like Real Madrid or MU needs him cuz his fame outside the field. Still, I never said he's useless. His contribution is recognized in the leagues.

  4. he's not overrated he's just reaching a point in his career where he is more prone to become worse, ability wise.

Unfortunately he is more prone to this as he is playing in a a sub standard league and his fitness has dropped dramatically.

  5. not really, he is very talented

  6. Europeans definitely think so. I think he's alright. I give him some credit for coming to America. The spotlight has basically been on him for a while, and I think he's done okay.

  7. absolutely

  8. DUHH!

Nowadays in games; whenever he gets the ball, he just crosses it down to the other end of the field!

Hes sooo not playing as good as he can:(

  9. First and foremost players play to their competition. With Real Madrid and Man U. he was literally playing alongside and against the best in the Footballing world. The MLS....well it does not have anywhere near the quality that the Premiership and La Liga do. David Beckham's lack of intensity may indeed stem with the little motivation he has to play exceedingly well. Hes basically minting money with his contract, so the incentive monetary wise is lacking. The competitive drive in the MLS may also be lacking. Look at the champions league final. It was huge. People came from all over the globe to watch Man U and Chelsea. I doubt more than 20% of sports fans can name who won the MLS championship last year. (The Dynamo btw). This lack of attention and appreciation could also test his competitive drive.

Finally, David Beckham is definitely the most overated "superstar" soccer player there is. The man has made a career of superb free kicks. While yes, he may indeed be the best free kick taker there is, his overall game is nothing spectacular. He is not a burner, nor is he tricky dribbler or a scorer. For what his playing worth is, he is not worth the money he is making at LA. Apparently he told Man U he was willing to come back to them for only 7 milliond pounds, yet Sir Alex turned him down. Basically Beckham does not come close to the other superstars of his generation esp Zidane and Figo, his onetime fellow Real team mates

  10. NO  Look how far the Eng national team got without him until the final two games.  No Euro for them.  His defence is shotty at best I know but he is an offense machine.

  11. He is overrated, but some people over do it. He is still a good solid player, but past his prime.

  12. He has paid his due's

  13. all famous ppl are overrated

  14. Yes. A little. There are less famous but a lot better players out there. He's getting a little older, what he's like in his mid-30s right?? He gets injured really easily, I mean come on, you're a professional player.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I can do what he does but that's just my opinion.

  15. hes alright, i like his cologne better

  16. Only half as overrated as that orange broomstick he calls a wife.
