Is Death Note worth watching?

Hi. I'm wondering if Death Note is something I'd like. What are the pros and cons? Is it creepy and violent? Or only in such a way that it's Full Metal Alchemist leveled? (FMA can get pretty creepy but it's still worth watching cuz of all the funny parts and the good episodes.)

so basically, how creepy and violent is it on a scale of 1-10? still good?

  1. I love it. It should be ok for you.

  2. Yes Death Note is worth watching, but i suggest you read the manga...better artwork. The animation in the anime can be chopy. Not as much action as full metal alchemist, but really good plot. Also Death Note is more psychological plot then FMA which made me keep on reading. Also I suggest you watch the sub instead of the dub english version. If you like deathnote then I suggest you look up Monster....more creepier than deathnote.

  3. It is very creepy and (although the instances they show blood are rare) when they do show blood, it is a flood.  In the last episode, one person has a geyser of blood come out of him (in the anime).  So I'd put the gore level at 9.  But the story is very good (if not confusing at time).

  4. There is blood but it's okay it is rated pretty good on a 1-5 scale 4.9?

    Summary:

Yagami Light is an ace student with great prospects, who's bored out of his mind. One day he finds the "Death Note": a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. With the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create his perfect world, without crime or criminals. However, when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer, and a battle of wits, deception and logic ensues...

Hope this helped you my rating would probably be a 8.9-9.8 I am not really sure! :P

Note it is not that creepy

my ratings were how good the anime/drama was!

  5. u gotta see it to find out.

  6. kinda a stupid idea for a show, umm maybe on a 6/10. sorta good, my bro used to watch it.

  7. I much preferred the manga (which you can read on onemanga.com) but the anime was pretty good too. The anime was pretty well accurate compared to the manga but they screwed up the ending big time.

But Death Note is one of my favorite anime/mangas. Lots of times it goes into this sort of complex logic puzzle sort of thing but it's a bit more simplified in the anime I suppose. It's definitely not the most violent thing out there since it's not seinen (unlike manga like Berserk! and Gantz... now THOSE are creepy and disturbing and gory). But it's still way awesome.

  8. well im sorry but i really havent watched FMA and idk what u consider too violent but DEATH NOTE IS WORTH WATCHING!!!!! its the best show EEEEVEEEERRRR!!!! only some episodes are a tad violent... in my opinion... but the plot is amazing!!

  9. its' a 10, you will love it, I don't see it as creepy and violent at all

  10. It's pretty awesome.

Not as creepy as FMA I GUARANTEE you!

    I strongly recommend Death Note.

And while you're at it, watch Code Geass-Lelouch of the Rebellion.

You won't regret it, trust me.

  11. I guess so. its not very violent.

  12. OMG how can u ask this

    its worth watching!!!!!

    i give it a 15/10 its a masterpiece

check on top 10 animes its almost in first or second

    i reccomend it a lot!

    c ya ;D

  13. pretty good show but most the episodes are edited so ya

  14. The best thing about it is probably the characters. It's almost like you can root for either side, but its also more humorous type than scary. Great story, art, and music. Theres rarely violence, but yeah, its my favorite.

  15. Death Note is one of the GREATEST animes I've seen..... and I've seen a lot... If you like Anime.... it is a MUST SEE. It will keep you on the edge of your chair the whole time.... Super Suspenseful... Highly recommended.

It might be a little violent, but even my timid wife can watch it... I am sure you will be fine. the first episode might feel a little creepy, but give it a chance and watch on.... you will be hooked. I find it to be WAY better than Full Metal... very Smart... it just keeps you guessing until the very last episode, and you don't even know which side you are rooting for... Really one of the best.

  16. Death Note has what amounts to an Angel of Death and some people do die, but the emphasis is more on suspense than violence and morality more than "creepiness" so I don't think violence and "creepiness" should be real concerns.

Its many merits include superior artwork, a clever and compelling storyline which is very hard to outguess, and a basic moral quandry which is at the heart of the story. It also contains a very interesting idea in its basic premise. Some people have complained that one central character dies too soon and minor characters suddenly become more important after that point, or that they don't like the way the ending turns out, which likely means they are on the other side of the moral question than the creator of Death Note. A few people complained that Death Note wasn't long enough, although I count its relatively short length (for an anime) as one of its virtues. The merits greatly outweigh the few flaws.

  17. If you liked FMA then you may/should find it acceptable .
