Is Decking for a boat deck?

i have a 14ft open fishing boat, i would like to know if i could use decking as an alternative to ply as i deck for my boat?.

i am thinking this would giva me an anti slip floor

  1. Absolutely not! It is far too heavy and you would turn turtle. Marine ply is nice and light and has enough strength, stick with it!

    use thin marine plywood.

    you can make your own anti skid surface by coating the wood with epoxy and sprinkling sand onto the wet epoxy.

  3. Absolutely.  I;d advise looking into quality composite decking or vinyl decking.  Either one are great options for boat docks and jettys.

  4. the only decking ive ever heard of is used for raised wooden flooring outside and it becomes very slippy when wet.

    if you can get some you should get a sheet of grip tape similiar to that on a skate board
