Is Delaney a boys' or girls' name, or gender neutral?

I really like Delaney Joseph for boys and Delaney Antoinette for girls, with Laney as a nickname for a girl and Del or Danny as a nickname for a boy, but everyone else seems to think it's just a girl's name.

I think it is a little femminie as well.  Although I think Ashley is a girls name and I know several boys with it.

i think its good either way really but Delaney sounds abit girly but if you call him Del or Danny for short like striaght a away when he's young i think it will be ok

Delaney does sound fairly girly, but it is nice. However you might want to try Dillian, and call him Dill. Or you could just name him Daniel. Delaney Antoinette is a bit long but it does sound very nice. Hope I Helped!

I have only ever heard it as a place name or a surname, never a first name.
