  1. His peak years are definitely behind him but I think he's having an off year. He is still capable of putting up some great numbers in the future.

  2. I believe Jeter has alreayd hit the peak of his career and is on the declining side, right now his production is average compared to other SS in the league. He could surprise you with an amazing year before he retires but his overall production should continue to be average for 3-4 years before it starts to descend again.

  3. He's already peaked, and will play until he has 3000 hits, then he retires.

  4. i think hes having an off year..

and no shortstop ever retires as a shortstop..

so he can be one of those guys that moves to outfield or a different position.

  5. He is 34 and a shortstop; those don't help him.

It is interesting that he is most similar as a hitter over the last several years to Roberto Alomar.  As you may recall, Alomar got old in a big hurry.

However, it is too soon to write him off.  He will probably have several more good years.  It's just not likely for him to get much better at 35 and beyond.

  6. Both...he needs to retire EARLY! Haha

  7. I believe that his hitting can rebound, but I think that his fielding is definitely on the way down.

  8. I think its both.

  9. Yeah, I'd say both. He's getting older and you can't expect him to be like the old Jeter hitting and fielding wise anymore. It's a tough call but he's certainly out of his prime and is starting to go down hill, so yeah both factors work.

  10. I heard from my sources that Nike was getting ready to prepare for the Jumpman Jeter walking canes. They come in Pinstripes or in Dollar Bills. There was a recent quote in the local paper that had the Steinbrenner's praising nike for there excellent design. "If Nike had not made this cane, A-rod would have to be our shortsop, and nobody wants that."

Yes I know a little harsh but they should switch him with A-rod or make him the DH

  11. Both

  12. Both...They should put A-Rod at SS and move Jeter 3rd base.
