  1. Overrated: No

    Over paid: Yes

Devin Hester is the premier return man in the league and is on pace to smash the career return TDs record. What he did for the Chicago Bears during their superbowl run was irreplaceable. He is trying to develop as a wide receiver so can get some more touches in the game.

I do not believe however that he earned the contract he just signed. He was paid far and beyond what any return man should ever make on the hopes he can be a receiver too. The Bears do not figure to be great this season so its not like they signed the missing link either. Hopefully down the road he can develop the recieving skills to compliment his return ability and earn that fatty paycheck.

  2. He's a good return man, but he'll fail miserably as a #1 WR.  He's proven again and again that he doesn't have the intelligence or commitment to learn a playbook.  The last time he was a decent position player was in high school

  3. He is the best at what he does - return kicks and punts.  Period.

As far as his compensation...  The Bears are paying at the level necessary to keep this extraordinary return man from playing elsewhere.  He is a game-changer.  Using him at WR aids in justifying his salary - a salary which supports an exciting product that fans fill the seats to watch.

  4. In some ways yes and other ways no. I say yes because, he's a Defensive Back still learning playing Wide Receiver. No because, when it comes to returning kick offs or punts he's # 1 in the league. Once he's become an accomplished Wideout then he can be crowned a true threat in the league.

  5. He's the best return man in the NFL and perhaps the best to ever play the game. It's a huge mistake for Chicago line him up as a receiver. Unless they're expecting him to be the next Owens or Moss, it's pointless to risk an injury.

  6. He isn't overrated as a Kick Returner.

But as a Wide Receiver, I'd say definitely.

  7. Nope. That's just hater talk.

  8. nope not at all

  9. He is a great return mann, and a great situational player, but will never be a great full time player.

  10. Overated: Impossible

    Overpaid: not for long

Devin Hester is almost about to smash the career returns for touchdowns record and he's only been in the league for 3 years. Keep in mind he was a steal with the 28th pick of the 2nd round in 2006. He has never been a receiver before so people have no clue what there talking about when they say he can't learn a playbook or isn't smart enough. Heck, He was thrown the ball 28 times last year and caught it 23 times. He's the fastest player of all time, and has the second best vision in the league, behind adrian peterson. No one is even close to his agility, and he can throw a great stiff arm. So no, Devin Hester is a future hall of famer, he's not overated, and im saying this as a vikings fan.

  11. he is not overated as far as the kick return game. As a wide out, he got paid money recently like if hes a proven wide out. we havent seen him yet on that part of his game thats why people are saying hes overrated. ill say hes unproven

  12. no, because as a wide receiver the out of the few looks he gets, he will turn the catches into big plays and as a returnman he isnt either because he set nfl records with his blazing speed and great vision

  13. STATS DON'T LIE..........................

  14. I never seen his rating but i would say no cause he is a really good player who doesnt get all that much opurtunity but makes the best of what he gets

i hope you dont think he is overrated, he will go down as best kick returner ever, he pretty much already has sucured that in his very short cerrer

    yep that is hater talk

  15. He is way overrated!  Just wait until every team starts to kick away from him, then what will he be? A less than mediocre WR....

  16. no
