Is Disneyland better than Disney World?

Question

I live about two hours away from Disney World in Florida, so I go there about twice a month, but I've never been to any of the other Disney Lands/Worlds. I was at Magic Kingdom and a staff member complimented my sister on her jacket and we got into a conversation. He said that he likes Disneyland California much better because they "get so much more into it." My uncle insists that he was wrong and Disney World is much better, because it's so much bigger and more spread out and less crowded. Thoughts?

For the people who have never even been to Disneyland I don't think that's even fair of you to answer the question.

It really depends what you are into.

I like Disneyland better because it's more of a Disney experience and it's kind of home- like and comforting to me.

Disney World is great to though.  And don't let other people make up your mind for you.  Like whichever one is more fun for you. : D

It's a different experience for both.. I'm from southern California and lived about 35 minutes from Disneyland so I'd go alot and I've been to WDW about 3 times. I love them both but Disneyland higher for me because it's the original and the charm is different then Disney World.

Disney World is better than Disneyland. I've never been to any of them but I heard alot of people said they enjoyed Disney World better because its bigger than Disneyland.

Disneyland is way better!

i have a season pass for disneyland and ive been there alot

and i love it

it maybe smaller than disneyworld but its wayy more magical

and i love california adventures its really fun going back and forth to each park.

and the parades and firework shows and fantasmic is all amazing!

Well everyone i ask tells me that disney world is much better because they have more rides this that...but disneyland is fun i dont know why people sometimes complain about it DISNEYLAND ROCKS!!!

I have been to both, Disney world is much bigger due to the fact it has Animal Kingdom, Epcot,  Magic Kingdom, the water parks etc. They also have many other non park things that are great like Disney Quest.

When i went to Disney land, California adventure just opened, it has looping coasters all huge tower rides that blast you up and down, and well yeah.

It really depends why you are going for kids and a whole family Disney World is like 5 times better.

for single or small group of young adults you will probably find that Disney land is better due to California adventure.

I mean Disney World is amazing but they do the whole character thing wayy better in Disney Land. Besides it all started there so it would be probably be the best I suppose.

i personally think that disneyland is better?

but that is just because i'm more used to it

so i guess my decision isn't that fair

but in california disneyland

i love going to california adventure

it's like a festival type area.

and disneyland it self i never seem to have enough time to finish everything i want to..

I Love Disneyland.  But there is sooo much more in Walt Disney World.  I have an annual pass to disnyland and go all the time, but still there is just more to do in Disney World.  I guess you could say that they are both great in their own ways.

that will usually be the one you went to first and spent the most time in.

i have been to both parks and giving the opportunity, i would go back to Disneyland without thinking twice about it. it is a smaller park but its has a charm all its own.  this is the park that Walt built. he walked down those streets and helped designed those rides. historically, this is something no other park has.

both have pros and cons:

Disney World is larger, has more rides, has more parks, has more options (hotels, non-park attractions, water parks, etc) than Disneyland. but because it is larger you spend a great deal of time just trying to get from one place to another.

Disneyland is smaller and everything is connected. you could walk from one park to another to Downtown Disney to the Disney hotels.  it makes everything very convenient. rides are kind of cramp together. because it is smaller it seems crowded even when there are not that many people at the park.

if you go in with an open mind you can have fun at either one. and after being to different theme parks, the Disney parks are still my favorites.
