Is DnD MINIS the same thing as DnD basic game 3.5?

And please can someone explain the main rules for beginners, I can`t find them anywhere.

  1. Google for a game called OSRIC, it's free to download and it has the same rules as DND

No.  D and D Minis is different.  It is a collectable minatures game where D and D is a roleplaying game.  Minis is all about combat, what happens to who and when.  D and D 3.5 is about taking a character and advancing it through levels of achievement while gaining power and skills and items.  Minis was orginally an extension of the roleplaying game, and allowed players a somewhat cheap and easy way to have just combat.  Roleplayinng requires making more choices and solving problems.  There is no reason to buy basic D and D.  Today if you want to get into 3.5 rules you should buy the Pathfinder RPG.  Here is the link to that information

    OSRIC is free and also can be used for playing D and D.  Many players will prefer to have a printed copy of the game.
