I believe Don Bradman is greater than Sachin, Sachin has so many records but Sachin played lots and lots of matches more than Bradman.

Brandman has Test Average of around 100 while Sachin has only 52. Also in the time of Don Bradman there were no safety for batsmen against the Fast bowlers like elmet, elbow guard etc. While Sachin gets these benefits.

In the time of Bradman there were not many cricket playing nations, while Sachin also played against Kenya, Bangladesh, Holand etc and thus his records increased.

Though being Indian we always think Sachin is like God in cricket but reality is that this position is of Sir Don Bradman.

i would rate bradman as the greatest batsmen as he was playing in an era when there was no help from technology like biomechanics,computer software to study & correct your techniques & also they did not have the team of physios 7 other backup staff to help them recuperate from the rigours of the test cricket.

moreover there were no cricket gears to protect from the lethal fast bowlere so to stand there & clock centuries after centuries can be done by a great like don bradman.

Acc. to me, Sachin is the greatest! Bradman was the best in his era, when cricket wasn't so big and moreover there weren't bowlers like Shane Warne and Muralitharan! Most of the bowling forms weren't even introduced....It was easy for bradman to be the best among a few! But Sachin is exceptional - he has handled pressure, he has not only handled but thrased bowlers like Shane Warne, Glann McGrath, Wasim Akram, Muralitharan, etc.....Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is by far the greatest cricketer!

No-one has ever attained Bradman's average & it's unlikely they ever will.Those who mention Sachin are kidding themselves because the great man is nearing retirement age & has no hope of beating anyone's average that he hasn't already ! Modern players recently discussing Bradman said that he would be just as good or better with today's shorter boundaries, protective gear & cushy conditions. While Sachin & others may have the runs, they don't have that average, so Bradman is the greater of the two, don't be conned into thinking otherwise.

No, the things  about Sir Donald Bradman, is that he was good, there is no doubt about that! But he never really had any competition, and he didnt have the likes of Bret lee, Malcolm Marshall, Alan Donald to test him. So to be really honest I dont think that he would be that great if he was playing today. Look at Jacques Kallis, he nearly took over his record of 6 successive centuries a few years ago, and that was against much tougher competion, than what Bradmna faced in his years.

However, I think Sachin is not as good as he once was, but I think Jacques Kallis may have taken the mantle from him. I mean look at his record....his a living legend!

When we compare their batting styles, they are alike. And Tendulkar said he never tried to copy Don's Style.

bradman played in an era, when bowlers were chubby, they didn't have that much skill.  sachin plays in an era where everyone is is excellent physical condition bowlers bowl much faster much better techniques. so its hard to compare them.

Sir Don Bradman was the greatest cricketer ever and his records speak for his greatness!!!

The bowlers during his days were the best ever and still managing to score runs at an average of 99.94 is something which only a very gifted player can achieve.

Sachin is also a very great player and an individual. The only player who can be compared to Sir Don Bradman's stature is Sachin himself. He has successfully achieved the records and has done this with the pressure of Billion Indians!

Sachin's greatness can be estimated from the fact that Sir Don Bradman himself complimented Sachin that he saw himself in Sachin!!!

So Sir Don may be the greatest ever, but Sachin's greatness too is commendable and I don't think any other player can surpass Sachin ever.

Well Sachin have played more matches both ODI & TESTS and now the level of the cricket is getting tougher and back then it wasn't that tough i guess ..... Bowlers now like Murli and others are really a headache for batsmen to play against. So it depends on what the level of cricket it is now.
