Is Dr Pepper really carbonated prune juice?

Someone told me that, so i asked another friend of mine and she said its mainly prune juice. Which is supposedly why they say their soda has so many flavors. So they can ignore the fact the main one is prune juice.

True?

  2. I think that's a myth that started a long time ago.

    In addition, Bottlecaps (the "Official Newsletter of the Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute") emphasizes in their Vol. I, 1999, issue: "Prune juice is not and never has been in Dr Pepper. The prune juice rumor is an old story that has been in circulation since the 1930s."
