Is Drinking more than 10 glass of water a day is harm your body?

Hi,

I heard some where that if you drink more than 12 glass of water in a day is harmfull to your body, Lets say 15-20 glass a day or more dringking is harmful to body. It will increase the weight instead lose weight. Is that true?

  1. Depends on your needs. Your body tells how much water it needs, if you overload your body with water you shall have an overall load of water in your cells and this means that electrolytes like sodium will be low. This is called water toxicity and you can die because of it due to brain damage.


  2. no its not harmful to have that much water. but do take care that you have proper and ratio amount of food to maintain the FOOD:WATER ratio.

    having water do helps in cleaning up your food pathway.

    If you drink a lot and then weigh yourself, the weight of the water will show up.  But that is only temporary, not weight gain.

  5. your bodies weight due to water changes constantly and you shouldnt attempt to alter your weight by water intake or lack of intake.  drinking lots of water wont make you gain weight cause you'll just pee out what you dont need.  drinking too much can cause problems but it is not a problem to drink 12 glasses a day
