  1. Dublin's official date of establishment was in 988 A.D. although evidence of it's existence dates back to the second century in which it was named Eblana.

    In 1800 the Act of Union between England and Ireland abolished the Irish Parliament. A long decline set in that only began to be reversed after Ireland became independent in 1922. This independence came about after the 1916 Rising and the subsequent War of Independence. After Independence Dublin became the political, economic, and cultural center of the Republic of Ireland.  

    Nothing to do with UK, now or never!!

    Edit: Dublin is the capital city, in the Republic, so no, it doesn't belong to the UK.

  13. Up until 1926AD we were officaly part of the UK, we got our full offical  independence from the UK after that... ( the North of IReland is still part of the UK , belfast is the capital of the North of IReland)
