Is Dunedin, New Zealand have a warm climate for most of the year?

I am looking into moving to Dunedin. What is weather like there? Is there many beaches? What sort of activities to the locals take part in... besides going to University.

  1. NO - Dunedin is one of the coldest places in NZ !

    Hot in summer but freezing in winter.

  2. New Zealanders are an active people.  It often seems that, after watching rugby, their national sport is hiking (which they call tramping).  They do mountaineering, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing etc, etc, etc....  If you are into that sort of thing you will have a great time.

    It is not warm though, unless you are comparing it to Antarctica.
