Is ECW championship considered a world title? ?

know it was when ECW began back in 06 but right now it seems as a midcarder title like the us / ic. I mean look at punk he was ECW champ it wasn't that big of deal. But it was a waay bigger deal when he won the WHC...

I believe the ECW Title lost it's "World" status (in the eyes of the fans, which is what really counts) after RVD was screwed out of it by Paul Heyman, of all people, in July '06.  I think that was the night when everybody KNEW that it had become just another WWE mid-card Title.

yes the ECW championship is considered a world title in the WWE's lineup... however, due to the ECW standing for Extremely Crappy Wrestling, only those that would contend for the IC or US title are holding the belt... ECW needs to be reformatted... there is nothing extreme about it... it's only an hour show, it's not even remotely live... do they even have any other belts? or just the championship belt? something needs to be done to make this show better... where's a hardcore championship when you need it? at least one fight a night should be contested under hardcore rules... and the title should always be contested under hardcore rules........

I've actually left the WWE fanbase due to dismally boring storylines... UFC has REAL fights with real knockouts... oh and Brock Lesnar kicked Heath Herring's ***

yeah as of July 1st of this year its considered a world title, i agree to me it isnt a big deal cause there hasnt been any superstar to hold it with credibility

No, it is not recognized by Pro Wrestling illustrated.

I don't think the WWE considers the ECW at the same caliber as the WWE title and the WHC.  I think its a midcarder title like the IC and US titles.   But when you look at it, it doesn't look that prestiges.
