Is ET timezone the same as EST timezone? (Eastern standard timezone, as in the time in New Jersey,United State

If it is different, can anyone please tell me the conversion?

  1. Double click on the time shown in the lower right corner of your monitor.  Click on timezone   You will see all the different time zones and some of the major cities in each zone.  


  2. In New Jersey, you live in the Eastern Timezone; that never changes. EST stands for Eastern Standard Time which is the "normal" time. During the summer we adjust the time so that the afternoon hours have more daylight and the morning hours have less by moving the clock an hour forward.  (That's why noon in the summer is really 11 o'clock "sun time.") During that time, the time is referred to Eastern Daylight Time or EDT.

    If you are trying to figure out the time overseas, EST is UTC-5 and EDT is UTC-4.

  3. EST isn't the zone. It's the time in the zone. During daylight savings time you use EDT and during non daylight savings you use EST.
