  1. i have sold 12 items since january on etsy. 5 on dawanda.

  2. It's the best known place for 'artists'. People take you more seriously than ebay, which is more like a garage sale. I mean, you can get a good reputation on Ebay but it takes more work. Etsy's just so simple to set up and you can advertise, like you just did by posting this question!

  3. Im with Kacky, I have alot of stuff listed on there, & has been on there since Jan o8, not 1 hit!!! You do better on Ebay!

But you might want to look at www.powersellersunit.com

they talk about all kinds of auction sites, but will warn you, they dont get any hits at all.

  4. No, it isn't. They don't advertise except encouraging their crafters to post Spam everywhere.  Nobody shops there except the other crafters who sell there. Many of the shops are crappy, which brings the value down for all the others.

Did you photograph your earrings on a bedspread?

  5. I think so, I have found very little that is even close.

I really enjoy Etsy, and although sometimes it's rather difficult to find exactly what you are looking for, most of the things that I have listed are sold soon, and the Alchemy function works great too.

  6. I believe so.

I have sold over 740 of my jewelry items there.

I think the important thing to keep in mind is that Etsy, as a website, is only a venue for selling your items. It is up to you to generate views and promote yourself. Post on the forums a lot and frequent other crafting communities. I have also found that putting ads on Craigslist helps generate sales.
