  1. It can happen, happened to me once, but I learned from that. I still buy a few things from e-bay, but I check the sellers rating before I do. If theres an unusual ammt. of negatives  in the ratings, ( my personal limit is 2% or more neg. ) I move on to another seller.

  2. Sure, it can happen.

It's not really a question of EBay, although they do thier best to get rid of people who cheat people...but it's a question of the person who's selling the item. Ebay does have a rather good rating system based on the feedback of other users...and if you buy something, you'll be asked to leave some..hopefully positive.

All you can really do is read what other users have had to say about a seller and weigh your options there. Everyone I've ever dealt with on Ebay has been pretty good..I got a bad item once, but the action warned that the unit was not tested...so it was my fault.

  3. I've bought a lot of things from eBay. And have not once been scammed - I got everything I payed for. The key to having a successful transaction is to buy your item from power sellers or sellers who have a good amount of feedback with all positive/good comments. It's a generally safe place if you buy from people with good feedback.

I've bought 2 PS2 games last week, got them in a day. Just make sure to buy it from someone who has plenty of feedback!

  4. Check the feedback of the person next to their name. 100% feedback means that the people that have bought from this user were very satisfied. Read feedback left for the user to see how the experience with this user was with other people that have purchased from them.

I have used eBay many times and I am extremely satisfied.

  5. Always check the sellers feedback. You can see how they sold to others. If something is broken and you pay with paypal, they will refund your money if you can prove it is broken.

  6. E-Bay is just the 3rd party, not the seller.

But they can & will take complaints about it to the seller.

If the seller doesn't satisfy you, they can cut him off.

  7. just review their feedback.

  8. EBay only allows users to sell and buy items, so it's not ebay to worry about, it's the users.

It's always a risk doing business with random people on the internet. Don't buy expensive items, that's for sure.

As for to be safe when buying, check not only the feedback but sellers comments to bad feedback and what bad feedback says. If A person says "Never recieved item" and their are few other with that problem, they're sort of OK, as it was a postal issue. If the seller replied something like "I will email you for resend" or something, they're OK, but if they don't reply or reply something mean or stupid, don't trust them. It's not just if they send it, as errors can happen, it's how they reply to errors.

  9. ebay is usually pretty okay

  10. check the feedback and always ask for an original picture

  11. its a risk either way in my opinion

but i purchased a cell phone off of ebay and it came back in perfect shape. i have personally never had a problem purchasing things on ebay. they have always came back in a timely manner.. and you can always look at the ratings of the sellers.
