I don't know much about modern Egypt (only the Pharaoh age) and I'm not Egyptian, I'm English and we're doing an essay on the British empire at school (grrrrrrr, hate school!) and i need to know what continent it is part of...

Thanks!

  1. technically and geographically, its considered part of Africa but sometimes, in certain circumstances, it might be put into the middle east category

    In short, Egypt is African

  2. It is in northeast Africa, and is considered part of the middle east as well.

  3. Egypt is a part of the African continent. The middle East is not a continent it's a region. That's the difference.

  4. AFRICA!!!!!!!!!!(technically)

*note: the middle east is not a continent

  5. Both.

Africa is the continent of which Egypt is a part.

The Middle East is a region that is on the continents of Africa and Asia. Egypt is part of the Middle East region.

  6. it's North Africa

Edit: it's not 'sometimes considered as part of the Middle East'. I work in market research and we call that area MENA (middle east and north africa). Middle East is for the know Middle Eastern countries in Asia and North Africa for countries such as Egypt, Algeria..etc

  7. Egypt is the upper most part of the Afican continent.

It shares it history with the peoples inhabiting the middle east

for it is known as the birth place of many nations.

  8. I'm egyptian, it is a part of Africa (Continent) . Middle East is not a continent, it is the region where Egypt and surrounding arab countries are located. so to answer your question, Egypt is located in the Continent of Africa.

  9. African

  10. Egypt is part of Africa.

There is often confusion because most of the countries of North Africa (Morocco across  to Egypt and down to Sudan and Djibouti) have cultural and religious ties with many  countries of the Middle East region of Asia.   Geographically speaking though, Egypt is most definitely in Africa.

  11. It is in Africa, and it is considered part of the Middle East.   Same as Iran is in Asia, and is considered part of the Middle East.   Also a chunk of Turkey is in Europe (and all of Greece) and one or sometimes both of those are considered to be part of the Middle East.

  12. Egypt is north africa. but culturally speaking it has more ties with the middle east. so it is considered to be the middle east aswell.

its kind of like denmark being part of scandinavia. look at a map and youll see it is in no way connected to scandinavia. Culturally speaking though. it does relate much more to scandenavia than it does to germany (its southern neighbour)

  13. Egypt is a country in the continent of Africa.

The term `Middle East` is a region and not a continent!

It is a pity that Atlases are not printed any more, else you could have looked it up in one.
