I've traveled a lot because my father is pilot. And I'm curious about Egypt. I've been hearing more and more lately that Egypt is a dirty dirty place, and aside from people who have gone to see the pyramids, I've heard countless times that Egypt is a dirty country, and not a place people have enjoyed visiting at all. Many people have told me they were really disappointed when they traveled there, and that they wouldn't again. Is Egypt really that dirty, and unenjoyable? I'm sure the pyramids are pretty cool, but is anything else? would you visit again?

  1. i recommend for you to visit:

    Thailand

    Malaysia

    Egypt

    Turkey

  2. Most of Egypt is dirty but what do you expect? Its the oldest country in the world. Ancient cities are generally very dirty today. Athens, Rome and Paris are all filthy. People don't realise this. Cario is not a very pretty place but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. The pyramids and the Cario museum are amazing. Theres not much else to see in Cairo so you only need half a day there. Alexandria is nice (more European) but not alot to do and check out Dahab on the Red Sea. Cool little diving town. I backpacked thru Egypt for a month and I loved Dahab the most. Also, see the temple at Abu Simbel and the Valley of the kings at Luxor, they're amazing. Sailing down the Nile on a felucca is amazing too but they're not equiped with facilities. Not really suited for females. I think the main reason alot of people don't enjoy Egypt is because they expect it to be westernised, which of course it isn't. Some toilets are litteraly just a hole in the ground. I'm not kidding! Being a bloke, that didn't bother me. I loved Egypt, I just didn't like Cairo. I recommend you do a tour.

  3. The only thing i still remember but that's becuz of mother nature

is the sandy weather, you can see it clearly as a black line on the collar of button down or dressy shirt

still i see it a silly reason doesn't affect your attachment to Egypt

    edit:

for the Mr /something ...his answer right underneath my answer

    behave man

i didn't say anything wrong..that's the nature of the weather

by the way i born , raised , college graduated ..in Egypt...

    ....how old are you son...?

there is no inch in Egypt ,i didn't visit when i was a student and nothing compete my passion for the place i used to hang out w/ friends

    and i said

this sandy weather is a silly reason that doesn't affect your love (attachment)to the place you born and raised in

i left Egypt seven years ago ...but i know much better than you know about Egypt

and i'm still attached to Egypt

and once again , I'm quietly sure ,you didn't understand what i typed before

you just acting nasty that's all because you didn't understand my answer

  4. Egypt is soooo big, having diverse landscapes and various types of tourism: Mediterranean shores, Red Sea shores, Nile, Deserts and Safaris, Mangrove - Acacia - Kafour...-...-..-.forests, snow, Islands, Nile Islands, Salt Lakes, mountains, valleys, waterfalls...etc Besides, the monuments and the Egyptian cities themselves.....etc

you could go diving in Sharm Elsheikh, swim in Alexandria, go shopping in Cairo, go skiing in winter in Saint Katherine, hike mountains in Hurghada, go on a Safari in Siwa, visit 1/3 of the monuments of the world in Luxor, ..................etc

    don't listen to stupid ignorants.

  5. My sister moved from Canada to Cairo to work for 6 months.  That was 13 years ago.  She says she will only return to Canada to visit.  Its a huge city of 20 million, so it has all the things that go along with that size.

I have not been there, but can only say from what my brother and 2 nieces have said.

Brother (age 59) hated it and would never go back.

Niece (age 30) hated it and would never go back (and that's her mom who lives there).

Niece (age 19) loved it and is moving there this year.

It's all a matter of perspective, isn't it.

  6. You should come and see it yourself :) i'm sure u'll like it

I'm an Egyptian and i wouldnt trade it for the world I adore Egypt and i see it a very very Beatiful country the most beautiful in the whole world

hope you can come and see what I luv abt Egypt i'm sure you'll love it too :)

  7. I lived inEgypt for 2 years and i think it is an amazing place, it all depends on what your looking for, cairo is not dirty but it is very polluted but thats due to the population there are so many people there, it also dependson what part you go to there are poorer parts as there are in every country, but if you want to go on a holiday may I suggest Sharm El Sheikh its in Sinai and it is absolutley amazing, nothing dirty abut that place, if you do go, i suggest going on a day trip to a small town in sinai called Dahab, its realy relaxed and a briliant atmosphere, everyone has a different oppinion but it all depends on what you are expecting from your trip and just to let you know that the pyramids are in the middle of the town and people live all around them, so its not as magical as it seems when you get there

  8. don't always believe what you hear Egypt is like any country have good and bad side some see only the good and some always see the bad in any country they visit so its different from one to another

  9. in Cairo only, you could visit several places: Egyptian Museum, Cairo Tower, Saladin Castel, Mohamed Aly Mosque, Fatmid Cairo, Old Cairo district, take a feluka in the nile, Cairo Opera, Azhar Park......................etc

so don't believe anyone who tells you theres not much else to see in Cairo or you only need half a day there. its just nonsense.
