  1. haha Ben J must be what he's on about

Yeah tis true.. unless of course you work for MI6.. in which case getting caught wiping your bum is still cool

  2. LOL!

That's right up there with Investors In People.

  3. Ha ha.  I like Haz's answer.  Just like "Adding Value to our Company."

  4. Wow, that may be the best question I have read out here.  I had never tought of it that way but the answer has to be a resounding "yes"

  5. I can see exactly where you are coming from, it's basically an award for being the best of a bad bunch so yes, a winner from a group of losers is still a loser.

  6. Simple working folk do get a thrill from things like this. Does it make you feel big by putting others down?

  7. Well yes, because it means you successfully kissed a**  for the whole month, so sure you got 'employee of the month', but all your colleagues know you suck (maybe literally ....)

  8. Well it could be - if somoene works in an environment where the employee of the month is considered a joke with the colleagues, than yes I see what you're saying.  But at the same time, the people who are making fun of employee of the month are really just probably insecure about their own contribution to the workplace.  When they do this they revert to tactics the mean kids used at school - spread rumors, call them names (brown-noser, suck-up). try and get a bunch of people to agree with them etc.  People are competitive so if they don't get these titles they may try to make negative statements about it to make others look down upon it.  Perhaps they are lazy and this kind of program not only highlights good employees but bad ones as well - think about it, if one never receives this title than it might say something about your work performance.  So I think that's why sometimes these types of employee recognition programs are a looked upon as being positive and negative.
