  1. u cnt say the best team .but yeah great team and a capable side.and i would love to see eng humiliate aus next year

  2. Are u kidding. England will never be the best team in the world because they lack team spirit, they never play as a team. Beating weaker team makes them feel good, but that's what they can do. South Africa is going to beat England in this series. And Australia .........................

  3. Don't cross the bridge until you get there

  4. no

    australia are much much better

  5. You have done ok recently, but then it was against a very weak NZ side. Dont start skiting till you've played Lanka, India or Aussies. And no, you aint the best team in the world, thats Australia.

  6. Oh yeah? We can only finally judge them when they can trounce the West Indies!

  7. no we won't beat the ozzies badly, we won't even beat them at all. We beat a weak nz  side, and the SA series has just started. The ozzies aren't the best for no reason, they can beat anyone anywhere, although i agree with some of the above they are a side in transition.

  8. It all depend when Peterson and Bell rings well otherwise they are not so strong compare to Australia.

  9. I couldn't resist answering this, not because I have any real opinion as to whether Eng can beat Australia, although I think you are exaggerating their strength & in all probability Aus will win comfortably. My comment is about one of your answerers, who claims England have no team spirit. I must tell him if that's what he thinks, then he has never seen them play cricket especilly The Ashes. They do have a real team spirit & a determination to win, plus  pride in their country. I have seen several Ashes series & I find them to be the most watchable of all cricket matches, because both teams are out there to win & play the game as it was meant to be played.

  10. Ha ha, funny.

    dare to dream.

  11. apparently England seems in good form.they also beat us at test

series lately(Natwest 2008 England). Now against SA in tests it sounds they are on the verge of success.Aussies - can't say anything...looking back AUS VS IND test match followed by Sydney test(where Aussies cheated).I was like How embarrassing!and i was totally shocked to learn that India beat the WORLD CHAMPS so badly. At that moment i thought even England were better than Aussies..So you'll just have to wait and see because this game is totally uncertain. All the best to English fo ASHES 2009 though !!!

EDIT- Binga i ain't Indian.HONEST! and i haven't even been there ever. The world knows you Aussies cheat(I'VE NOTHING AGAINST THEM  BUT THE WORLD KNOWS THE TRUTH).Even africans during the world cup 2003 called

you that.Take my words for it.

  12. we stand more of a chance with the players we have now but we need simon jones back!!!!!

  13. ITS A JOKE,,,,LAUGH AT IT

  14. yu tell em Bingalee

  15. Beating NZ twice is not exactly comparable and one test against the SAFs is not a great indication IMO.  Will be interesting but I'm guessing they will be pushing the proverbial uphill.

Edit: What do you think now? Give the points to the SAFs?

  16. England might Beat Oz next year, but even then they wont be the best in the world. For them to be best they need to beat all teams at home and away - which is very unlikely becoz England rarely takes any other tour than to Oz seriously - And the SA tour had only just begun so wait n watch. To me the best team in the world right now is SA and if England can beat them then they sure are favourites for next year's ashes

  17. No... They are beating RSA right now but RSA are not known to be a good test side!! RSA is more like a ODI team!!

Btw, what happened last time? Anyway, India is the best Test team!!

  18. Australia will win the ashes again 5-0

Australia is the BEST team in the world even with the retirements of some of crickets greats

Anyone who thinks they can beat australia at cricket are very very dumb

    the top teams are

    1. AUSTRALIA

    2.AUSTRALIA  A

    (big gap)

    3.who cares- let ENG,NZ, SA,SL,IND,WI fight over 3rd best

  19. The stirrers are busy here today! England, to answer your question, is a whopping 31 points behind Aus in test cricket, & in 7th place ODIs. Where does that say you are best? I thought only Indians made those extravagant claims after 1 win? Some of the answerers would do well to check your facts about certain things before mistakenly posting them here. Owen Frey, if you were a genuine New Zealander, (which we all know you aren't), you would NOT call Australians cheats. That is an Indian thing, (which we all know you are), & comes from being beaten. Australia have not been reported for cheating & consequently have never been penalized for it. Take that back to your fellow sore losers!

  20. I think you may have to eat your own words at the end of the series.Whoever that said  SA are not a good test side must be joking.

Sri Lanka is the best then Australia and the third place is for the South Africans=p

  21. i believe the english will win the ashes. wont be a walk over though it will b tough. but i think eng will regain the ashes.

    u can follow it here

  22. you do seem to have improved somewhat

im realy looking forward to the next ashes series

    may the best team win

  23. we are not the best yet but we are getting better ashes will be close but we will win

  24. You are 100% right and I to think Austarlia will be beaten all ends up.

i feel England might trounce the Aussies to win the ashes.

  25. Oh dear.

Yeah - up at the moment, and beaten a NZ side in transition.

But not the best, and never count out the Aussies.

And the proteas aren't out of it yet!

  26. Of course not. However, I'm not sure Australia will murder us either, as at times (yes, at times) they struggled against the West Indies in the recent Test series. In the first Test, there was a second innnings collapse of 167, which England would've been proud of! ;) Yes, they won 2-0, but the West Indies have a tendency to have woeful batting, had it been another team, I reckon Australia could've been looking at a different result. Then again, I'm British, and I'm clutching at straws. ;)

Either way, a 2-1 victory over New Zealand over there, where at times, England weren't very good, at all, and a 2-0 victory here with a run chase that had it been over 300, we'd have probably collapsed dismally. Also, that Test match at Old Trafford, had it been versus Australia, perhaps even South Africa, (what with their very talked about pace attack) would've played us out of the match after the first innings thanks to that deficit. Then again, that's my pessimistic view. Perhaps Monty Panesar would've done what he did to New Zealand.

Yes, we beat New Zealand, but (and no offence to any Kiwis) they're not the best at Test matches. They have some good young players, and are an up and coming side.

No, we're not the best cricket team in the world, the ICC rankings tell us that. This is only the first of four Tests against South Africa, and if anything, this  could turn into a high scoring draw.

Plus, in 2009, I don't think we play at Old Trafford (a successful ground for England, and Monty Panesar, in recent years) and Trent Bridge (another ground that England have done alright on).

  27. No !! I dont think so!!

  28. they have one or two weak aspects in bowling.,. but u cannot say that england could badly beat aussies. england have good chances, that will 5 0 50
