  1. I'm doing it this year. The tutors at college said it's like a completely different subject compared to what we've done at high school. I got loads of leaflets about it. You do things like learning how we learn language, how men and women use language differently, how it's changed through the years, how babies learn language etc. etc. So yeah...not really anything like high school!

  2. Yes and no. English is not considered a perticularly academic subject but at the same time it is a skill and some people can not pass a certain grade in it because a passion for the english language is kind of like art. You have to live and breathe words to succeed. The spoken and written have to be your worst enemy and best friend at the same time live and breathe it. So if you have already done well at GCSe then you should do alright in A level.

  3. Well...I was going to take English Language but then I changed because I got an A in English Lit at GCSE so I did combined English and I'm glad I did because people I know who did English Language found it very hard!  Although, if your good at it I'm sure you'll be fine and everyone said it was an enjoyable subject.

  4. Everything is relative, if you are good at english, then you should have no need to worry. Be confident and try your best, that is what I told my daughter and she has just gaine a degree in english. Go for it and best of luck.

  5. ive only done it at GCSE, but its supposed to be one of the easier A levels

its probably different for different people though, depends if you an 'englishy' person.

  6. I think it's quite an easy lesson, but I have always liked English. I am about to start A2 English Language. I got a B at GCSE and B for AS.
