is Environmental impact statement a result of environmental impact assesment ?? or the two are completely different things??

if they are , can you please tell me where to look for EIA's on the web.

  1. The difference is more a matter of semantics than anything else. Sometimes it is a matter of who is requiring it. A highway requiring federal funding will require an EIS. Municipalities regulating local construction might ask for an EIA, which might be less rigorous.


  2. You first must be able to do an EIA before getting a result of EIS. A statement is a result of Assessing something first, eg. Mining, to do further work or blow a hole in the ground, you must assess what is the next step in progress and what needs to be done before putting the information on paper. Once the EIA is completed it can be put to paper making this a statement of the next steps.  If you want to find a EIA or EIS look up something that has to do with Dredging, Mining, Bush Fire etc.  Hope this has been helpful for you.
