Question:

Is Epsilon Eridani part of a star cluster?

I'm writing a little story about shenanigans in space and after playing Mass Effect I was wondering if Epsilon Eridani is one star in a group of other stars or is it just by itself?

For example, in Mass Effect the stars Utopia and Asgard are both in the Exodus Cluster. Is Epsilon Eridani in a similar situation? If so, does that cluster have a name?

Thanks for any help.

  1. Epsilon Eridani is not part of any star clusters, but it is the third-most closest star to Earth.  There has been at least one planet detected orbiting this star.

Here is a link to information about this star.

It could be considered part of the local group of stars close to our sun, but the local group would not be considered a star cluster.
