Mercenary no. Blackwater are not mercenaries. They provide diplomatic security for the Department of State, they are not foreign nationals conducting combat operations for profit.

Also, as far as being a patriot, he was an officer in the Navy SEALs for 4 years.

His father was in charge of a fortune (1.3 Billion) from his father patenting the vanity mirror in all automobiles.

He ended his commision as a Navy SEAL in 1995 when his Dad died and he sold the company and moved to Virginia Beach and bought 6000 acres of land to develop a Special Operations training center (something he knew well, obviously serving our country in the Navy) in Moyock, NC.

He has 6 kids, is a christian and is recently remarried after his wife died of cancer in 2003.

He is a likeable guy and all the bad press about him is from the left.
