  1. Ethanol is better even from corn and way better from grass waste.   Of course if big business or big government are involved I have no doubt that they will choice the worst possible method of producing the ethanol and make oil look pretty good.

Ethanol is not a direct replacement for oil but rather for gasoline.

  2. it actually ends up being about the same. both require energy to make into a fuel, though ethanol requires more energy. ethanol however is not toxic should it leak from underground tanks, where as gasoline will pollute groundwater. both have similar emissions output when burned, but you have to use more ethanol to make the same power as gasoline.

  3. Hemp 4 everything!!

    Timothy

    :o)

  4. Ethanol from corn is a close call.  The analysis is difficult, and the result depends on how many things you include, like byproducts and transportation.

But most sophisticated analyses show it as a small win.

It's real value, though, is providing a incentive for ethanol fueled vehicles, and the infrastructure to support them.  Because, when we learn how to make it effectively from low value cellulosic materials, like grass waste, it will be a big win.

  5. GAS, OIL, DIESEL, EXHAUST, GREENHOUSES GASES, CARBONS AND co2 does'nt cause Global Warming and decipates in front of your eyes unless you trap it some where. DO A EXPERIMENT= BURN SOME WOOD OUTSIDE, THROW SOMETHING IN IT THAT WOULD CAUSE BLACK SMOKE AND THEN LOOK INTO THE AIR AND WATCH THE BLACK SMOKE DECIPATE IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES,  A MUCH HIGHER INTELLIGENCE IS CAUSING GLOBAL WARMING AND MAN DOES'NT HAVE THIS TECHNOLOGY.

  6. corn ethanol is worse for the environment. However micro-algae and cellulose based ethanols are great and produce one hundred time the amount per acre.
