Is Federer still number 1 after 2008 Wimbledon?

Yeah he is still number 1 !!! I personally feel Rafa deserves to be the new #1 :) He`s achieved a lot more this year and its about time he had that top spot ever since he joined the tour as a teenager he`s been challenging Federer and breathing down his neck lol !!! Federer is still #1 in the 52 week ranking system.  He's #2 in the ATP Race, which means that while he's still the best player dating back to July 2007, he's second best this calendar year.  

If you look at grand slam performance this year, Nadal is ahead of Federer.  Both made semis in AO, then Nadal beat Federer in the finals of FO and Wimbledon, so he's a step ahead.  If Nadal continues this high level of performance on hard courts this summer, then he definitely deserves to take over the top spot.

Yes he still is.Nadal gained 300 points whilst Fed lost 300 after the Wimbledon,closing the point difference to about 575 points.However,Nadal withdrew from the Mercedes cup in Struttgart,Germany,a title he was to defend.Therefore he loses 250 points,widening the gap again to about 825 points.So whether Rafa becomes Num 1 or not this yr depends on how things play out,who is able to defend titles and points better.Technically,Nadal has a chance of being Num 1 b4 the end of the yr.So does Djokovic.It's interesting to c how the hard court season goes.

Roger Federer is still ranked number 1 but, the way things are going, Nadal will probably take over the top spot in the not too distant future. He deserves to. He's won two Majors this year and has played excellently almost all of the season so far. I honestly think losing the #1 ranking may be good for Federer even. He will lose the pressure of being "the top guy" and being expected to win everything. It may also serve as a wake up call that there are other hungry players out there and he can't cruise through on his reputation and past achievements: If he wants the top spot and to win more slams, he is going to have to work for it. Should be an interesting time in the men's game...

Well, Rafa may have won the match but when the points total up, if its still less than what Roger's total is, then he's still No 2.

Technically, he is #1, but alot of people now see Nadal as the best player in the world. Federer still has many points from tournaments he won last year like the US Open, so if Nadal does better at tournaments than he did last year and Federer does worse, Nadal can be the new #1

yeah definitely federer still number 1. you can't decide ranking based only one or two tournament, but throughout the year (there's a ranking system by ATP)

federer still lead about 750 pts now from nadal (after next monday,bcoz nadal didn't defend stuttgart).

Nadal should be number 1 in the world when his point surpassed federer.
